The Retirement Send-Off

A career of showing up deserves more than sheet cake. The donkey walks in carrying the retirement gift, colleagues sign an "Officially Out to Pasture" board, and the guest of honor leaves with photographs nobody else at the company has.

  1. We plan the entrance with your organizer: timing, music and who's in on it.
  2. The donkey arrives in your colors with the gift and card in its saddlebag.
  3. Guests sign the board and line up for photographs with the retiree.
  4. You receive the photo set for a frame or memory book.
Starting at$450

Planned with your team

We work from your organizer's run of show, so the herd arrives at the right moment and no one has to manage us.

Your brand, worn well

Colors, logos and signage are handled with care, and nothing goes on the donkeys that you haven't approved.

Calm animals, real care

Water, shade and rest at every event, with visits timed to the herd's comfort as well as your agenda.

Photographs people keep

Every guest who wants a photo leaves with one. That's how an office party becomes a story.

Styled for every occasion

Dressed for the day, down to the saddlebags.

    About Traveling Hooves

    Hello, I'm Tracey.

    • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
    • Owner & lead handler
    • Woman-owned business
    • Raised in Vincennes, Indiana

It all started in the fourth grade in Vincennes, Indiana. I came home and told my dad, Tom, that I had joined 4-H and I wanted a horse. We climbed into the family's brown van, drove to the sale barn, and came home with my first horse, Dynamite.

As my interest grew, so did the whole family's. Riding horses and mules became an entire family affair, with trips that took us on cattle drives in Oklahoma, into the mountains around Sierra Vista and Pinetop, Arizona, and along the trails of the Phoenix Valley. My mom, Phyllis, shares the same love of animals and has rescued many over the years, from dogs and cats to chickens and birds.

For a while I thought I'd become a veterinarian. Instead I became a pediatric nurse practitioner, caring for children and their families. Adding three miniature donkeys to our family brought those two parts of my life together, and Traveling Hooves is how I share them with my community.

    Questions

Good to know before you book.

How much space do the donkeys need?

About 20 by 20 feet on level ground, with trailer parking nearby. Grass or dirt is best; we can work on pavement with mats.

    Can the donkeys come indoors?

Yes, with your venue's approval. They wear diapers and we clean their hooves before going inside.

    Do you serve alcohol?

We never sell alcohol. For weddings, parties and corporate events, the donkeys can carry beverages that you or your venue provide.

Can you feature our company logo?

Yes. We use blankets, vests and signage in your colors, with your logo wherever you approve it. For partner programs like 811, we use gear the partner supplies.

    What about the summer heat?

From June through September we book outdoor events in the morning or evening only. Indoor and well-shaded events can run at other times.

    How far do you travel?

We serve the Phoenix Valley and travel to Tucson, Prescott and other Arizona communities for a mileage fee.

    Are you insured?

Yes. We carry $1,000,000 in general liability coverage and can name your venue on a certificate.
